Need a plane ticket to a place far, far away. I have a friend who went to Key West and went to the Jimmy Buffet thing. She has called me EVERY day since she's been gone. She keeps it up and we won't be friends by the time she comes back.

And did you know that even when it's almost 100 degrees your AC can still freeze up, therefore causing many problems including lack of sleep because it's too darn hot to sleep without cool air in the middle of July. Got an appointment with the repairman for Monday. *sigh* Yeah, you heard me, Monday, as in next week.

How do you feel when an adapted film's story deviates from the original material?

Usually I don't see the reason for it. If it was good enough to make a film why mess with it.

Just to show you how out of it I am, I mentioned to a friend last night that I was watching the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie. She says, oh there'll be a new one next year. Me the unbeliever, especially since she usually knows squat about these things, I looked it up and sure enough May 20, 2011 Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Lots of Jack but no Will or Elizabeth. But as long as they have Jack and it's Johnny Depp portraying him I'll be there to watch.

Decided to go to the afternoon showing of Eclipse, beat some of the crowd, I always feel a bit claustrophobic when the theater is packed to the brim. Loved the Harry Potter preview, makes me want to go back and read the books for about the fourth or fifth time. I didn't know or else had completely forgotten there was to be another Narnia film. Cool.

Edward...yes, I'm still for Edward. Somebody said his eyebrows were scary but I think they're part of what makes his face special. And he actually smiled more in this movie and he looked stronger and I kept thinking yeah, I'd snuggle on his cold, hard chest anytime. Thumbs up for Edward!

Bella...well...well, she looked better in this one. Her hair looked better, not quite so limp. Too many closeups of the rabbit teeth though. Really this girl could be absolutely beautiful but what she wears does nothing for her and I hate her mannerisms. I'm also fighting an intense dislike for her treatment of Edward, she was panting a little too much when the wolf came around. And the scene where Jacob had to keep her warm? Did nobody think of blankets, thermal underwear, thick socks, gloves, hats...I mean, they ARE in the northwest U.S., right?

Jacob...I try to like him, I really do. I almost did in the previous films but this one has really turned me off of him. Every time he was shown I kept thinking yeah, I bet he DOES stink like an old dog, look at all that sweat, does he ever bathe? If he could have just done his scenes without the smirk. I need to see this boy in another movie so I can see if he's just being how he thinks Jacob is or if he's really like this. I'm sorry if you are a Jacob fan and reading this...I'm really, really trying to make myself like him.

Cullens...love all of them! I'm glad they gave Jasper and Rosalie a bit more time in this one, really liked their characters and glad to see Jasper wasn't quite as uptight as before. Wish there was a way to see or read more about the background of all the Cullens.

Victoria...not bad. The fighting/running scenes were great and she had that wild look to her eyes.

Riley...the new guy, he wasn't bad.

Bella's parents...love Charlie, don't like Renee.

Good movie, want to see it again. Can't believe it's almost a year and a half until the next one.

What would be the best thing about entering the Witness Protection Program and getting to start your life from scratch? The worst?

The best thing would be the possibility of my school loans and other debts disappearing and getting a fresh start without that burden haning over me.

The worst would be having to leave my familiar places and people. I'm a big person for routine and I don't know what I'd do if I were taken completely out of my comfort zone for good.

A friend has been after me to try the Bleach show and I caught most of one episode. It's not bad but I still don't know what was going on. I thought the guy had long white hair though and why are his eyes red? Do I have him mistaken for someone else?

I looked everywhere for the new Star Wars book Outcast today, but apparently I'll have to order it. I've seen a few posts about it and there seems to be mixed views. I'm just curious about what kind of reasonable explanation they'll come up with about why Jacen turned. And why is there such a mystery about it? I always thought Jacen was changed/broken when he was a captive of the Yuuzhan Vong and it all finally caught up with him. He'd lost the empathy he'd once had for others.

SPOILERS!

Oh, my poor Dean, poor Sam! What have the writers done to you? I loved the geeky bookwriter guy...a prophet! Things just get more and more interesting. I'd love to have that whole set of books. I like how they guy...his name's gone out of my head...knew about Sam's demon drinking but left that part out. I just knew Sam and Lilith were going to make some weird demon baby or something, I'm very thankful I was wrong, though I thought it was Dean who was always willing to jump in the sack with anybody. Sammy's come a long way. Castiel looks like he's about ready to go AWOL. And finally next week we get to see the supposedly hidden away younger Winchester sibling. From what I could see he's not nearly cute enough to be related to the other two.

I could LIVE at the beach, it's so beautiful and soothing, I could forget everything else if I were there long enough. But now we're home and it's almost as if we were never gone and that's a bit sad.

Today was my grandmother's birthday, I just realized that earlier. She's been dead for over 20 years now and that number seems unreal. She had long straight white hair and wrapped it in two buns, not on the sides Princess Leia style, but in the back and secured them with a ton of bobby pins. She was very short and always wore an apron over her dress even when she wasn't cooking. I liked her, she was a little quirky.

A friend of mine who's a history teacher at the junior high school invited me to see 10,000 B.C. with her last night, she wanted to see how accurate it was. But I couldn't go since I had that ridiculous meeting to go to. The meeting that accomplished NOTHING and will probably be put down as some kind of employee training or something equally ridiculous. I'd much rather have been getting popcorn stuck in my teeth while watching cave people.

And my hands and feet are swelling again, especially if I sit just a little while. I guess I need to call for an appointment but you know how I hate going. They'll make you wait forever and then the doctor sees you 5 minutes. Then you wait back in the waiting room for either a return appointment or a prescription or something.

Did you hear about the earthquake in England? I don't think I remember hearing about one there before, at least not one that was over 5 on the Richter Scale. But isn't it said that an earthquake can happen anywhere but we just hear about the ones along the faults cause they're stronger.

I know years ago, in the early nineties maybe, I visited cousins who lived in extreme west Texas, close to the New Mexico border, and there was a small earthquake there one morning. I remember being mad cause I actually slept through it and when I got up everybody else in the house was talking about it, how the windows had rattled and a vase thing had scooted off a shelf and broken. It just seemed an unlikely place for one to happen, that area is flat and not heavily populated but I suppose that's nothing to do with anything.

Isn't it a Leap Year? I think so, we should have a 29th tomorrow. I never did understand what the Leap Year was for, somehow it keeps the calendar from being too far off something I think. Maybe.

Well, I did try to watch the awards last night, at least the last half, but kept falling asleep. No Country For Old Men won. I saw this movie, was dragged to it reluctantly by a friend but was surprised to find it almost mesmerizing. Very intense and disturing. I don't know if it won anything else.

I'm tired, don't know why, and I'd love to stay home today and just catch up around here. I don't think my boss would understand though.:)

I saw Jumper! Awesome movie. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect but it really was good. It has sequel written all over it. Hayden Christensen really fit his part well too and Samuel L. Jackson was suitably intimidating as the villain.:)

The Spiderwick Chronicles was also playing but I don't know too much about it. Has anyone on my flist seen it? Is it based on a series of books?

Reading, reading, reading...keep on, keep on reading...

To the tune of the theme from Rawhide, this old western TV series, my dad watched the reruns on late-night TV years ago, anyway the music has been stuck in my head ALL DAY LONG. Different words though.

People at work are stupid. I don't like any of them. Too bad we're not capable of colonizing other planets cause I need to go away somewhere there's not that many people.

Went to a friend's birthday luncheon. Absolutely did not want to. I'd had an allergic reaction a few days ago and still don't feel well and my face is still puffy and my ankles are still swelling. And it was stifling hot. The lunch was in a Bed & Breakfast Inn, beautiful place and the tea and food served was excellent but I was so HOT the whole time. I think it was just me though cause everyone else looked fine.

Then there was picture-taking and I tried to hide behind everybody. Coming home it poured for a couple of miles but then I got here and everything's dry as a bone. It's a shame when the yard has to be watered here in October but we have very little rainfall and came out of a hot and unusually dry summer.

I would love to take off from work a few days and drive down to the beach. I could get there in about 6 or 7 hours. The water would be cold but the beaches wouldn't be that crowded.

I had a couple of days off last week but was busy doing all those things that pile up when you work a lot so they didn't really seem like days off.

This weekend there was a musical thing to go to that we attend every year but my heart was not in it. I couldn't cncentrate on the music and couldn't have been more uninterested in the crafts and booths. It was a relief to get home.

Well, I didn't pre-order Deathly Hallows as some people did but bought it very early Saturday morning. Didn't get good started on it until late that evening and then kept falling asleep. *Hangs head shamefully* But I did finish it and it was wonderful. I wasn't disappointed at all the way I was afraid I'd be. Now I just feel kind of lost with no more to look forward to...

Let's see, watched the clown episode of Supernatural again last night, couldn't help myself. Poor Sammy and his clown phobia and then Dean beating up the cherished Impala goes down as one of the best scenes I've seen. I tried to not dwell on the fact that Jo was introduced. I'm actually feeling more mellower towards her after it's become obvious she won't be pushed as Dean's love interest.

Writing...don't ask. That part of my brain is on hiatus at the moment.

I've been up to my eyeballs in work the past few weeks. Throw in an illness in the family and various summertime activities, and you get a very tired person.

There have also been a lot of hard decisions to make regarding work. More hours, more pay but will leave me with little time with my family. I'm on the verge of saying no. I've finally learned not to take on more than I can handle.

Let's see...I haven't been writing as much as evidenced by a lack of an update on my main story, Saving You. I've written bits and pieces of other stories, mostly so I wouldn't forget the ideas. Reading is almost unheard of right now and I honestly think my brain is suffering from it. I have a stack of books sitting on a table by my chair and they're gathering dust.

So that's what I've been up to which is almost nothing except working too much. Hopefully that will ease up during the next few weeks. I haven't even been able to read my friends' page, who knows what I've missed out on.

It was a battle but I did get to see the two Star Wars programs that aired last night. Of course, I didn't get to see them the first time around so had to watch when they repeated. Propped my eyelids open with toothpicks but it was worth it.

The first program, Star Wars Tech, was mostly about the various weapons and technologies that were used in the films and how they could be explained. The other, Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed, was comparing Star Wars to other things, the Bible, mythologies, etc. Luke as the Hero, the battle between father and son, the strong female characters of Padme and Leia, the mentors. Nothing really new that hasn't been said somewhere else but I enjoyed it anyway. Loved seeing the different scenes all put together, made me want to watch all the movies again.

I think the only thing I missed the past week was the biography on Mark Hamill. I'm hoping it will be repeated.

I've already got my stuff ready to record Smallville and Supernatural tonight. Unfortunately I won't be home and have to depend on our unreliable equipment and satellite service. But I keep reminding myelf that there are more important things than TV shows...one day I'll start believing it.

I see from the commercials that Lex lands a good slap on Lana. Yeah, I know it's mean but she is slightly irritating. Beyond that I've no clue about the rest of the show. And we all know that Supernatural will be a continuation of the big showdown with the Demon and his minions. I've read several different spoilers and it will be interesting to see which ones are actually true.

Let's see...I saw Lost last night after missing the last 2 shows. I didn't think there was nearly enough action and too much talking. And I like the flashbacks but not to where there's so many that they're most of the show.

*Looks at clock* About an hour and a half I can check out and go home, check on my beef stroganoff that I bravely put in the crockpot, change clothes, and then be on my way again. It's possible though that I may actually get a few days off next week or the week after...but I'll believe that when it actually happens.

Work is so dead today. And it's so beautiful outside...I want to go play. Or sleep. I can't seem to get enough sleep the past few days.

I really, really, really am trying to get the next chapter of my Vader and Luke story ready to post. I've got a couple of new plot bunnies running around in my head too but I'm not sure I want to begin anything new since I'm so tied up with work. 6 more weeks to go and then hopefully I can get a few days off.

I worked at home Monday and Tuesday but only because I had whatever the lovely virus is that has been going around at work the past couple of weeks. I didn't get much done, the days went by in a haze.

Then the hot water heater went out. The thing is ancient apparently. No hot water is not a good thing. A cold quick spongebath in the sink does not a happy person make. But it's back up and going but will need to be replaced. Oh, the little thrills of everyday life.

Is anyone watching Robin Hood on the BBC America channel? Or anywhere else for that matter? I love this show. The guy who plays Robin, Jonas Armstrong, is just so appealing. That commericial where he's shooting with the bow just kills me. I think I've found my new love.

Meanwhile, my old love Supernatural is back in business tomorrow with a new show. It is so inconsistent though, a couple of new ones, then several reruns. And no advertising to speak of. Someone must want the show to fail. Has anyone heard if it's been picked up for next season yet? I've got my fingers crossed but I have a bad feeling about it all.

I haven't heard much Star Wars news lately but then I'm probably out of the loop. My connection is so slow that it's torture to try to read much at any of the sites. Does anyone know what is happening with the new television show? Is it still on and when will it start being made?

Well, I guess I'll put in an appearance at work today. At least it will be a shorter day, Wednesdays usually are unless something big happens.

I found this story on fanfiction.net. It is the sweetest little story about a 5 year old Luke living with Darth Vader. Luke gets scared of a ghost and runs to his father. The thought of a sweet little Luke clinging to Darth Vader just makes my heart melt.
